Skip to content Steelhead Courses Howe Sound offers some of the best action of the year for feeder chinook salmon and is the most productive from November – April. These chinook salmon are aggressively feeding throughout the winter months and are always on the move looking for their next meal. We are fishing for a mix of legal and undersize fish. Pound for pound these are the hardest fighting fish of the year as they are ripe with energy. We spend most of our time in beautiful Howe Sound which is surrounded by snowcapped mountains and is typically quite calm in the winter months. Starting in December we see the crabbing and prawning start to pick up. We can drop crab and prawn traps throughout the winter months which offers a true West coast experience!
