( AIRPORT ) Turn RIGHT (South) onto Coleman Road Haida Style Expeditions We position our vessels in Schooner Cove in Nanoose for the April to June season start up. Nanoose offers easy transit either north or south so we can move to where the best fishing is located. Late June we then move over to Port Alberni to take advantage of the Alberni Inlet for Somas Sockeye. This amazing fishery starts when the fish begin arriving around the 3rd week of June and peak in the first 2 weeks of July. There can still be good fishing through until the end of July in years where the run is a decent size. These fish are perfect eating and the right size for family fun.

To access this recreational reserve you must turn right from Highway 19, near the head of Nanoose Bay onto Arlington Road. Follow Arlington onto Nanoose Beach Road to the head of Nanoose Bay. Public parking is found at the end of Nanoose Beach Road.
Salmon from as far south as North Carolina , Oregon and Washington plus the Fraser River feed off these banks. The banks are rich with pilchard, shrimp, squid, herring and sand lance. The banks are also full of halibut which come from the deep water to feed.

A good day fishing .Went for a 2-day all day charter for sockeye salmon. 3 of us. limited both days (even the captain, Jason got 4 fish the first day and 1 the second day). The sockeye were running, so limiting is fairly easy right now, but we limited much quicker than other boats, and Jason worked his butt off for us. We had a great 2 day adventure and recommend Bon Chovy for a charter without a doubt!! Leigh
