Chinook salmon are near shore coastal fish so once you pass the “fingers” outside the harbor area it is fishable waters. In late March there is also a good Herring run that brings in the larger feeder fish near the harbor area and they can range from 7-10lbs. These feeder Chinooks provide additional overlapping action with the migrating passing fish. The boat is a really good configuration for fishing with some inside cabin if the weather closes in. They keep it in great condition as well. All their fishing gear was new & lots of variety. Plus Regan grew up as a local on the island so he knows all there is to know about how to get onto fish. Particularly nice people as well. We got salmon & did a bit of bottom bashing which pretty much guaranteed fish. There ended up being a cancellation the next day so we enjoyed ourselves so much that we doubled up for a second day.
